Queen urged to strip Meghan Markle's royal title over Congress plea

The Duchess of Sussex, 46, penned an open letter to Congress on demanding paid leave for all new parents in America.

A US lawmaker has urged the Queen to strip Meghan Markle of her royal title for “interfering” in American politics by advocating for paid parental leave.

According to The Mirror, the letter addressed to the House Majority leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, included details of her childhood.

It also detailed the sacrifices working parents to have to make "not just in pursuit of the American Dream, but simply the dream of stability”.

The Duchess of Sussex noted that she is "not an elected official" or politician but that she wanted to speak "as a mum" on the issue.

She wrote: "I grew up on the $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler - it may have cost less back then (to be honest, I can't remember) - but what I do remember was the feeling: I knew how hard my parents worked to afford this because even at five bucks, eating out was something special, and I felt lucky.

Meghan was impassioned in her plea for paid leave for parents, saying "no family should have to choose between earning a living and having the freedom to take care of their child.”

In response, a Republican politician said the 40-year-old should “stick to acting” and accused her of using her British title and marriage to Prince Harry to interfere in US politics.

“Ms Markle's latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles, particularly since she insists on sending this under the pretence of being the Duchess of Sussex,” Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., told DailyMail.com.

“While her attempts at appealing to working-class families by recalling her days of eating at Sizzler were laughable, her comments make crystal clear that the passage of this massive tax-and-spend bill is aimed more at helping global elites get huge tax breaks than helping the working families she claims to have dined with.”.

Another Republican, Lisa McClain, R-Mich, said Ms Markle was “incredibly out of touch” with Americans and that she should “stick to acting instead of trying to play politics”.

“The last thing we need right now is wealthy celebrities pushing their liberal agendas on the American people,” she added.

Congressman Smith has already previously requested that the Crown strip the royal couple over interference in the US election after Prince Harry urged people to “reject hate speech” in the run-up to the election.

In the open letter, Ms Markle was keen to point out the inequalities American parents face in contrast to other nations in the world, which have laws in place to allow parents to take time off to be with their children.

Indistinct, underlined letters she wrote: "The United States, in stark contrast, does not federally guarantee any person a single day of paid leave”.​

Speaking about welcoming her second child, daughter Lilibet, into the world in June, she said she and her husband were able to be at home with their newborn for the early days.

But she acknowledged thousands of parents across the US are not given the same chance as they have to choose between "the conflict of being present or being paid.”

“Like any parents, we were overjoyed," Meghan wrote.

"Like fewer parents, we weren’t confronted with the harsh reality of either spending those first few critical months with our baby or going back to work.

“We knew we could take her home, and in that vital (and sacred) stage, devote any and everything to our kids and our family.

“We knew that by doing so we wouldn’t have to make impossible choices about childcare, work, and medical care that so many have to make every single day.”

Finishing the letter, Meghan said she believes paid leave should be a “national right” and a programme needs to be created to enact a “strong paid leave program for every American that’s guaranteed, accessible and encouraged without stigma or penalty”.

“This isn’t about Right or Left, it’s about right or wrong,” she continued, while acknowledging how “politically charged” things have become in recent years.

We smell bullshit. Thomas Markle senior won $750.000 on the lottery in 1990, Harry's wife would have been nine years old. Her mother Doria and father were working and Thomas Markle senior did not file for bankruptcy until 2016 over a $30.000 debt. So Harrys wife's dad with all this money and admits to paying for her schooling allowed his daughter to wait tables.

Nah Bullshit and just another bullshit story to add to the Harry wife bullshit list. It's sad also not permitted to use titles to try and influence political decisions, the Royals do not even do that in the UK but Harry delirious wife really believes she is American Royalty and can now tell the American congress what to do. As for paid maternity leave. Is this all about how long you took off from the projects you have been paid for? People have been having babies and working all their lives. You have nannies, two of them, so what would you know about looking after a baby.

There is a reason behind this letter and it has nothing to do with maternity leave. There's a Markle ploy going on. She knows fine well that she should not use her titles to make money, she ignored that, she knew Harry shouldn't meddle in another countries politics, she knows there is a petition to have Harry's titles put into absence. Is this her main ploy, have Harry all to herself, because let's face it, if the cable tv star wrote to congress as herself, no one would take notice. But as a duchess of the UK she believes they might, or, she would at least get the publicity and keep that Royal connection in the media as that makes her money. However, she will have her Duchess of Sussex title removed by the British parliament for meddling in another country politics is not allowed, especially as she is in reality just a cable tv star with ideas well above her station and lies that just keep dribbling out. I thought the Americans were clued up to clowns like Harry and his wife, but it seems she believes she is better than all of them, that's her character, she is a historic narcissistic bully. She has been most of her life, most likely began when she was very young and spoiled by her father, then her parent split up and she became Megladon the manipulator.

Also, Prince Charles writing a personal letter to Joe Biden is a far cry from a joke Duchess writing to congress using her title as she did to sell books, get megabucks deals and build such false confidence she believes she is special, there is nothing wrong with feeling special. But to feel special because you can manipulate, lie and live a hypocritical life who has turned her husband into a liar who is now with honour in the UK.

We ask one question, why can one woman lie so much and gain so much. The world sure is a crazy place.

Ohh and Harry you to us are a traitor, a treasonous lying traitor and you know this, we see it on your face every time you appear in public. You riding your bake around Montiyshitshow with your little boy is the only memory you grasp hold of from your youth with your father. You are like an open book and your wife just keeps mocking you and your family in public. What damage will your wife actions have on the mentality of your children?

Harry, your future looks orange son when the hair goes the marriage ends. If you refuse the hair implants and dental veneers you are sacked son. You are morphing into your wife - Right!.
